It's not a fail if your gender is recognized during crossplay. Although I think you should try your best to look like the character, sometimes it's just not possible. I have 38DD boobs and my first crossplay was Sasuke Uchiha. I had to bind like hell, but it still wasn't enough to mask the fact that I was a girl...

I didn't care though, I love the character and that's all that matters!
