The Shark Mouth

Here is a close up of the mouth.

The image of the shark in the garment starts on the pants with the mouth and ends at the collar with the tail.

The shape of a shark mouth was cut out after the top layer of the shorts was assembled. Then I stencil painted and "stamped" the skull pattern onto the main fabric. The stencil for the bone of the skulls was made from a cut out piece of foames. Then I used a foam pad to put on the white paint.

The eyes, nose, and mouth I used the foames sticky paper to create stamps on a wooden dowel. Since they can never be placed exactly the same twice it gave each skull a different characterization.

The teeth around the mouth are from a thick vinyl, usually used for upholstery. It was a black vinyl so I painted over it with white twice. The lace I found at Joann's and liked it since it looped. I initially was going to lace it up with some rope, but it looked odd on the sleeves so I ended up choosing chains, which I think fit Agito very well. The teeth on the chains are actual shark teeth.
